CAn anyone tell me, is there any way to increase the
mximum alloed number of conenctions to a pc running
Windows 200 prof? At the moment it is limited to 10, I
need to increase this to at least 20.

I am running a temporary website on the pc and IIS is
giving up errors saying that there are too many users
connected

Any help appreciated.

No, that is a hard coded limit. If you need more than 10 connections you
will need a server OS, Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003.

Thanks for your reply, but what a pain! I've got the
server software here but it will take hours to setup and
replace my 2000 pro machine and I only need the website
up for another 2 days. I guess this is a limitation put
in place to get people to buy the more expensive
software. That's it! I'm going Linux ;)

Strange, if you've already got the server OS why not install it. It's
almost guaranteed to be more stable than the workstation OS and certainly
easier to manage than Linux. Which by the way, is not Free in the total
cost of ownership equation. Let's see I've had a Dos/windows computer since
1986. If I go to Linux that's about 18 years of retraining. Hmmmm.
