incorrect options offerred for e-mail addresses

When I go to enter an e-nail address I am offered incorrect options. I can
not find them in the contacts. Where are they hiding and how can I delete
them?

Use your arrow keys to select one of the unwanted entries and press Delete.
Those addresses are in the autocompletion cache and they are addresses to
which you've sent mail in the past.
