In my experience, the most common reason for not getting a Recording tab is
the driver for the drive is not compatible with XP and you have to go to the
manufacturer Internet site and download and install the driver. The next one
was Roxio interference, but this was quite a while ago, I think Roxio 4 and
5. With Roxio 6 and up, it still takes over XP, but you can recover to XP
via the Recording tab.
You would have to tell us a little more about your computer. You upgraded
an old (3 years is old in the digital world, no offense) computer to XP or
this is a fairly new computer with XP already installed on it?
After reading the articles sent to you by John Inzer, if you can't make it
work, post again (better to start a new post so everybody can see it and
help) and tell us a little more about your computer so we can help.
