Hi,
How come the cd-rom drive, which can be read in DOS-mode,
gives "D:\ is not accessible. Incorrect Function" in
Windows 2000. However, when inserting an audio CD, it can
play the audio CD (in Realplayer)!!!

please help!

I had that problem when I installed Norton AV 2004. When I uninstalled it,
it all worked fine.

I have the same problem. I just installed Win2000,
everything was working fine until I installed some other
software, then all my CDROMs as well as my "A:\" drive
are "not accessible. Incorrect Function" If I reinstall
Win2000 then I'm ok, however, the problem has reoccurred
while installing additional software. Note, not the same
software as before. Something is going wrong during
software installation but I don't know what. How can I fix
this problem without reinstalling Win2000?

Thank you Russ. I uninstalled the last software that I
installed before the problem started and it fixed itself.
After reinstalling that software everything is fine now.
Thanks again.

I had the same problem with an LG burner that required a BIOS upgrade (of
the CD-RW drive) to work in my Dell Precision 530.
