Where are you looking at this, in Windows Explorer?
Has this always been this way or did this recently change?
By default, what you'll see is the folders listed alphabetically then the
files in the folder listed alphabetically. You can easily change this
within Windows Explorer by clicking on one of the headings in the
right-window pane just above the files and folders to select the method in
which they are ordered - by Name (for alphabetical listing), Type, Size,
date, etc. This is not specific to Windows 2000 DCs, rather it is a
feature of Windows Explorer. It may be that someone changed the default
view for folders on that system so that all folders get the same view and
it was done by one of the other criterion rather than Name.
