Incorrect Clock Change

This morning my XP clock changed to Standard time - one week earlier that it
should. I thought MS put out automatic updates to take care of the new DST
time changes.

I downloaded the update from MS, but when I tried to install it I get a
message that it's already installed.

How come it's still using the old time change system? How do I correct this?

Simply change your time sync server to tock.usno.navy.mil and your
problem will be over. MS's time server has always caused problems.

My time sync has never failed to fail. :/

What's REALLY needed is an update to fix this. My Win98 system had it
right. I expected no less of XP.

| Not here (UK) it hasn't. Rock solid.

This is my answer to the same problem in another thread:

Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs. Check
the upper box that says "Show Updates". Remove Windows XP Hotfix KB933360.
Download KB931836 and KB933360 from Microsoft. Install KB931836 and then
KB933360. Fixed the problem for me.

That's not the problem. My laptop showed the correct time, but my desktop
didn't. Syncing with tock.usno.navy.mil had no effect.

I tried all the listed solutions, but nothing worked. I finally changed the time zone, applied the change, and change it back to Central Time. This worked. My clock is no longer 1 hour behind.

This did not work for me. I tried several times and got an error message
that microsoft server could not sync

This one works for me (it's okay to just put in an IP address)

Thanks Wally,

I hope it holds. Do you know if it's possible that the sp2 is casusing the
problem? Wonder what would happen if we deleted it.

Ps

When the time changed here, my computer (WixXP SP2) screwed it up.

I also have all the current updates. No big deal.
