Hi
I am creating a doc that needs to include some drawings that were originally
created on 11x17 paper, and I am looking for suggestions of how best to deal
with this. The company wants to be able to print this book out, and the
nature of the drawings is that the text is so small as to be almost illegible
on 11x17 paper, so I can't reduce them to 11x8.5 for printing. For the PDF
version it wouldn't matter; you just magnify the view.

But, is it even possible to create a document that includes different sized
paper?
Thanks
Phil

Much depends on the capability of your printer. If your printer can print on
paper up to 11 X 17 and can Autoselect the type of paper based on the page
layout, it should work. You need to use section breaks between the pages of
different size and File > Page Setup to set the paper size.

I am able to print directly to a Ricoh copier with 6 different trays and can
set up a document to print on 8.5 X 11, 8.5 X 14 and 11 X 17 all in the same
document.

You'll need to set up your printer with the appropriate tray setting for
paper size so that it knows where to pull the right paper from.

Assembling the book will also be a challenge, since you can't use exactly
one-half of an 11 X 17 sheet (folded), if you do fold the page, you may need
to trim it down so that the edge is flush with the rest of the pages or fold
a little less than half so that part of the page sticks out.

Alternately, you might try to split your 11 X 17 page into two pieces as
facing pages, if you have a way to grab half a page at a time (perhaps from a
graphic).
