INSTALLED WINDOWS XP HOME ED. OVER WINDOWS 98SE.
DURING INSTALLATION A MESSAGE INDICATED THAT A FILE WAS INSTALLD THAT COULD
CAUSE XP TO BE UNSTABLE. AND THE MESSAGE SAID 'SOUND RECORDER'.
DETAILS--INDICATED THAT
EASY CD CREATOR, REAL JUKEBOX, OR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER COULD BE THE PROBLEM.
I WENT TO FILES AND FOLDERS AND TO 'C' DRIVE AND REMOVED ALL TRACES THAT I
COULD FIND OF: CD CREATOR AND REAL JUKEBOX WORNINGS CAME UP WHILE TRYING TO
REMOVE
WIN. MEDIA PLAYER. 1.2GH--512MEG.--25GB 'C' DRIVE WITH 17GB FREE. PROBLEM:
WHEN I TRY TO RECORD ON HOME STUDIO CAKEWALK 2004 EVERY THING LOOKS NORMAL
UNTILL RECORDING IS COMPLETE AND IT STARTS PROCESSING TO CREATE THE AUDIO
TRACE AND ONLY A 5 OR 6 MIN.OF THE RECORDING IS PRESENT THE REST IS LOST.
ALSO EACH TIME WINDOWS STARTS UP
A NORTON MESSAGE SAYS: NORTON DISK DR.TASTING 'C'. THERE IS ANOTHER PROCESS
CURRENTLY HAS EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO THIS DISK OR SOME OF IT'S FILES. NORTON
CAN NOT FIX. HELP!!!

Removing any part of windows media player isnt a wise
move, its a system file that xp relys on to operate.
The others arent needed, actually cd creator isnt compat-
able with xp.Try downloading wmp9 series, also open wind-
ows update,then retry recording,with wmp9 series you
should be useing wmp9 encoder, you need to dwnload that.
