I was initial pleased to find that MovieMaker on XP is
friendly and capable enough to be used by my son in
creating a video for a project at school. He created a test
video then brought it to school to see if it could be
displayed there.
No such luck, as the schools in our area are all Mac-based.
Unfortunately, the only non-windows-media-file output
format is DV-AVI. Although viewable using QuickTime, this
file format has poor resolution.
I have to purchase third party software and will stop using
MovieMaker! This serious lack of choices in output formats
makes MovieMaker useless to students in our geographic
area. A poor business/design choice on the part of
MicroSoft.
