Incoming messages go to deleted items folder

Some (but not all) of my incoming messages go directly to
my deleted items folder. I've elimininated all incoming
message rules. I had previously set some up to block
unwanted emails. When I send a test message to myself or
forward an existing email to myself, the message ends up
in the deleted folder. Does anyone have any suggestions
on how to fix??
