Incoming Mail goes directly to Delete

Outlook 2002 on Dell XP
Some new incoming mail messages go straight to delete
without stopping at the inbox. I cannot find any filters
set that can be causing this. The mail is not junk mail.
How do I stop this from happening?

We get this quite often when the Junk Mail features is
used. For some reason randon names or picked up and sent
to the deleted items.

We've told people to not to use the junk mail feature,
but rather to create a Junk rule using the rules wizard.

No one seems to be able to offer any explanation as to
why the Junk Mail feature does this.
