Hi,
I am using a windows 2000 client pc at one site bit want
to be able to dial into our windows 20000 server at our
main HQ.
I have done the following on the Windows 2000 server at HQ:
Mycomputer > controlPanel > Network & DialUp Connections >
Make New connection > Accept Incoming Connections.
I then select the modem on the server and create a user
name and password for the user who will be dialing into
the server.
Is this all i need to do for the user to dial into the
main HQ windows 2000 server?
The way i take it to work is this:
Our company has a telephone number of of 0161-XXX-XXXX.
Therefore, I need the server to have the modem cable
connected to the phone line. (But no actually conected to
the internet)
I then create a new dial up connection on the client PC.
I create the dial up number as 0161-XXX-XXXX. This will
then dial directly into the server.
Am i write to assume what i am doing is correct or am i
missing something?
Cheers for all who reply, much appreciated.
