how do i make my comp show me when someone is trying to
call me on the phone . on my comp it does but my moms
don't do you have to have a certian modem

Yes, the modem has to be v.92-compatible.
 
Another Suggestion is that you get DSL Service and it will
partition your telephone line and you can talk on the
phone at the same time you are on the Internet. Hope I was
a little help..
