My inbox had close to 1000 messages and now it says there
are 6. I need to find the other messages. Please email
me if you have a solution!
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
Don't have a lot to go on here, and this might be a
stretch. If you are not using an Exchange server as the
backend then all mail is stored on the client in a file
with a PST extension. I wonder if AutoArhive ran and
moved these files to the archive.pst folder. If you find
an extra PST file on the system, add it to your profile
and see if it contains the messages.

Also make sure you haven't changed the view on the inbox
to show only unread messages or something like that. It's
on the View menu.

Chris - I have the same problem...I can't find where
OUtlook puts new email that comes in (meaning where it is
stored). .pst is for archived email correct? Where is
it stored as it comes in...??

If Exchange server is not involved, then the mail will be
stored in a file with a PST extension. The default name
for the mails PST file is Outlook.pst, and the archive is
archive.pst. However, the files could be named
anything.pst.

Chris.
