When I attach a file to a msg. in Vista Mail it appears in the "Attach" slot
below the subject slot.
If I now Right-click on this attachment the option to "Save as" is greyed
out.
How can I re-activate this please?

If you attach a file to a message, the assumption is that the file
already exists on your hard drive. It seems incongruent to attempt
a save at that point.

Oh dear, another Senior Moment!
I was working on a msg. that had yet to be despatched and now perceive that
the "save as" option only appears when right-clicking an attachment on a
file that has been sent and received.

Sounds like you are squared away.
