I have an HP DL 380 domain controller which crashed during upgrade. So I reinstalled windows 2000 and did a system restore. And it crashes when loading mup.sys with error

STOP: 0x0000007B (0xFC23948,0x00000034,0x00000000,0x00000000) INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

I have followed this article: http://www.microsoft.com/windows200...FDeploy.htm#the_combination_installation_gxsi

and still no joy.

Before restoring there is no problem.

I have followed it and still the BSOD appears at the same position. Please can you help me.

Thank you

I experience the same dreaded Mup.sys stop and reboot problem
In server environment I think when you looked at the ntbtlog.txt inside Windows or WINNT folder
You see Service Pack 210 18 2008 14:07:03.375

Did not load driver ACPI Multiprocessor PC
Did not load driver Audio Codecs

Since I do not need audio to be enabled I suspect it is ACPI section of the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ACPI\GenuineIntel_-_x86_Family_6_Model_15\_0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\ACPI\GenuineIntel_-_x86_Family_6_Model_15\_1

The setting may have been incompatible with the loaded hal.dll at Bios startup and hence Windows cannot identify
the correct driver to load and hang....
