I searched and found others that had this problem, it
appears, but they were in other languages and therefore I
could not read the help they received.

I was having no problems, then I had a power failure,
that did not affect my computer, but it did make my
backup power system beep at me. A week or two went by,
then my computer just shut down on me, and I'm getting
this error message:

*** STOP: 0x000000007B (0x82065A30, BLAH BLAH.....)
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error
screen, restart you computer. If this screen appears
again, follow these steps:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly
installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check
your hard drivfe to make sure it is properly configured
and terminated.
Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then
restart your computer.

I have tried restarting. I have tried starting in safe
mode. It acts like it will boot up, goes all the way
through the start up, but just before the windows 2000
screen goes away to show the login, I get the blue
screen, "Stop error".

Can someone please tell me what I need to do next?

Thanks,
Richard

Just letting you know, I can boot up to Win ME, on the
same hard drive. When It gets to where it gives me a
choice I just choose Windows ME and it loads just fine. In
fact, Instead of using my laptop to come here and say
this, I'm on that OS.

So, what can it be?

Thanks,
Richard

I would suggest to boot the computer off the Windows CD and choose to go
into Recovery console and run the following command:

chkdsk c: /p

This will fix any disk corruption preventing you from booting.

Here is a reference to recovery console:
