Inaccessible folder

WinXP Pro; since installation, auto-creation of folder on second partition of
HD (presumed system folder). Accidentally moved (in Win Explorer) adjacent
folder to said "system" folder, now "Access denied". Have tried "Safe Mode",
boot to Command Prompt, still "Access denied". Folder is labelled
"32616901a1c815786be760" (not hidden, Properties changed to NOT "Read Only".
I can see my misplaced folder (with data) but cannot access it. What next?

In XP Home you have to boot in safe mode to see the security tab. In XP Pro
you have to disable simple file sharing.
