I have that message this morning also, as I put in a new
motherboard. The knowledge base article 287043 describes
it perfectly and explains how to use the repair process to
fix it. That worked great also, it found my windows and
repaired it.
However, nothing changed and I still get the blue screen.
Does anyone know how I can boot into Windows other than
this? The article says it is because my chipset drivers
are different, which is true, I went from VIA to NVidia.
I tried to uninstal the VIA drivers the last time I shut
it down to minimize this. The basic safe mode won't
work. Is there a safe mode switch or something that will
let me install the new chipset drivers as a 3rd party
driver, or some other way around this?
I considered sending this in to Microsoft but I need my
product ID number which I cannot see unless I can get
Windows booted (?).
Thanks for any help,
Kathleen
