Using Windows XP Professional connecting to Windows 98 SE
with crossover cable, I am able to transfer files and
print to the other computer. When transfering files over
4 GB however, the network appears to time out and try to
start all over again. Thus the entire file never is
completely transferred. This occurs even with all anti-
virus programs, fire wall software, and other extraneous
programs not loaded.

I'm sorry, but Windows 98 SE can't store a file larger than 4 GB.
That's a limitation of the FAT and FAT32 disk formats that 98 SE uses.
