Inability to Install Internet Explorer 6 Web Browser

During the install process receive a message stating "has
not passed Windows Logo Testing to Verify its'
compatability with Windows XP" but install program will
not tell details of this problem. Can anyone help??

It's due to corrupt catalog database:

The Software You Are Installing Has Not Passed Windows Logo Testing to
Verify It's Compatibility with Windows XP.
