Does Windows 7 support Outlook 2000? I keep getting the error WAB DLL when I
try to save a contact. If is does, how can I fix this so that it will save my
contacts? If not, what version of Outlook do I need? Please respond in easy
to understand language as I am not computer literate. Thank you.

No.

You may find that it works by setting Outlook into Corporate and Workgroup
mode.
However, you may well find that this is not the only problem you will
encounter - your password not being saved is the most frequent....
Office 2000 is over ten years old and not supported on Vista, never mind
Windows 7.

See http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/vista.htm for more information about
this problem and a hack you can try. However, we do recommend you upgrade
to a new version of Office or use Windows Live Mail instead.

Thanks for the information. I know that it is an old version, but I was
really hoping that I could get it to work. I will try your suggestion.

Thanks for the information. I will try what you suggested. If not I guess I
will have to break down and buy a newer version.

If upgrading is in the cards, right now MS is offering technology guarantees
for Office 2007 with free upgrades to 2010 when it comes out. The best buy
is Small business 2007 - you'll get office 2010 pro. The main requirement
is that you need to buy from an authorized reseller (not ebay). This should
hold you over for another 10 yrs. :)

Am I to understand you to say that if I buy something from you, you can
subsequently make it inoperative because you think it is out of date?

To whom do you think you are posting?
No one would expect software that is over 10 years older than the operating
system on which it is installed to function properly. All software becomes
outdated and the anticipated duration of support for software is available
to the consumer before a purchase if made.

To expect 10 yr old software to work on the latest and greatest operating
system is expecting too much... but there are simple fixes you can do to
stretch it out (or switch to Windows Live Mail client).
See http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/vista.htm for possible workarounds so
you can make do with the old software.

Can you use a carburator from a 1935 Chevy in a car of today? No.

Windows Vista and 7 don't supply the underlying mechanisms upon which Outlook
2000 (and 2002) rely and so they won't work well, if at all, with an operating
system they were never designed to expect.
