I am running Office 2003 on all 5 pc's on my home network. I have many
powerpoint presentations which i have created on one pc but want to 'deploy'
across my network without having to go and open up the file on all of the
pc's. Is there a method of doing this through the powerpoint tools? If not,
how would you suggest I go about doing so?

Thanks, please reply to me at (e-mail address removed) if you dont mind?

Thanks again.

I suppose the answer will depend on what you mean by "deploy".

If you simply need to make the presentations available to all computers on the
network, you could copy the PPT files to a single folder that's shared and
accessible to all computers on the network. I'm guessing you've tried this and
found that it doesn't do what you need, but figured it was a good starting
point. What won't it do that you need it done?

I need to, for instance, be able to set up certain options or to press a
button or something that allows me to make the presentation automatically
appear on other network computer screens either in a window or full screen.

Thank you for the suggestion about sharing a file folder but I have 350
computers on my network and need to be able to show the same presentation on
all of them at once throughout our company HQ:- it's for an open day.

OK. That's quite different from your original "5 pcs on my home network" question.
I don't know of any way to make this automatically happen on remote computers, but
perhaps somebody else has an idea.

In case it helps that process along, you may want to reply and mention whether you
have access to any tools that let you roll out software installs to all users on
your network.

Ah, then Presentation Broadcasting is what you are after. Be aware that it
requires a Windows server to do it.

And there'd still need to be a way to fire it up on all 350 PCs at once.

Yeah, and I have to wonder what sort of network could even handle that much
data to 350 IP addresses.

I was thinking more along the lines of some way to get copies of the PPT/PPS to
each computer then launching them simultaneously on cue. Somehow. Haven't the
foggiest how exactly ...
