In need of HELP!

Hi everyone, I am desperately in need of some advice. I bought a Compaq Presario with Vista in July. It constantly tells me that it has failed to start, it performs a memory dump I think its called then restarts and attempts to fix the problem. It can never find a solution to it and when it finally starts it says that it has recovered from an unexpected shutdown but when it checks for solutions it says that one isnt available. The computer is running very slowly also. These are the problem details, does anyone have any idea what is wrong and what can be done to rectify the problem. Please, I need HELP!
