Thank you for answering Corey--I am referring to the system of puting a number on a page, then reading the note at the bottom . You can also read it by holding the mouse over the number--Thank you
Place your footnote at the end of the page, and make a bookmark where it
starts.
At the reference point (where the number is) add a link to the bookmark.
Example (in code view):
<p>loads of text with a reference to a footnote <span
style="font-size:smaller;"><a href=#note1>1</a></span></p>
Rest of page
<p style="font-size:xx-small"><a name="note1"><b>1</b></a> footnote text
goes here</p>

thanks--my old version of FP had a footnote toolbar which made it a very fast
process
