The actual text to show in any text box varies from record to record.
Therefore Access merely adjusts the height of the text box when you
size-to-fit.
In contrast, labels contain a fixed caption, and so Access sizes both height
and width to fit. If you want to adjust a text box to fit a particular piece
of text, create a label, size it to fit, and copy the width to your text
box.
In Access 2000, Microsoft introduced internal margins. Unfortunately, these
are not taken into account at all when you size-to-fit (not to mention that
they also fail to handle internal scrollbars correctly.)
