impossible to capture with panasonic Palmcorder

I can't capture my videos with my fairly recent Panasonic miniDV Palmcorder
Obviously, it seems to be some compatibility problem between my camcorder and windows movie maker
I really don't wanna buy anything else to capture my videos (after all, I was never warned by microsoft that certain camcorders wouldn't work with movie maker)
Is there some kind of patch out there? Is Microsoft gonna solve these problems? Is there a list of products that Movie Maker does not work with

What is the model number of your Palmcorder? if it's one of the
ultra-compact digital camcorders, it might be recording in a compressed
MPEG4 format and not compatible with Movie Maker 2.

Are you connecting via firewire or USB?.... if it's USB, it's probably the
MPEG4 format.
