Importing text files

Just upgraded from 2002 to 2003. When using the import
test wizard i can no longer select each field to alter the
name etc. Just remains on field1.

Help please!
 
Just tried at home on my evaluation copy, does the same,
cant see why, mine used to work too.

This is a known bug in A2003.
MS is aware of it.
I assume (not sure) it will be in the next SP.

Thought i was going mad, couldn't find any mention of it
on the MS web site.

I do not know of a code fix.

However,
you can always use a schema.ini instead of a spec.

Have not tried but it may be possible:
Can you create a spec, save it and then edit it and change the field names
from the final screen?

literally hundreads of text files a day from outside sources. Just curious
if you know of a fix yet?
 
Having the same problem in Access 2003...however, I'm doing my best to get around it by using the "Advanced" Import Specifications.
