When Importing a table from Excel, one of the fields 'JOB ID' has records
that are either all numbers or alphanumeric. In Excel the formatting for this
field is TEXT. When importing to Access 2002, using the Import Wizard, the
alphanumeric records come over just fine, the numeric records look like this:
1.21473e+007.
The original in Excel was 12147331.
I checked the Access table design and the JOB ID fields are Text, 255
characters.
What could cause this, is there a way to change the data back to its
original look?

The field size is 255 characters, the width of the column is irrelevant. some
of the data shows correctly, and widening the column does nothing. it occurs
