Importing Shared Calendar

I realise that individual calendar items can be sent to other users, but I
can't find a method of importing an entire calendar with existing
appointments. I currently have access to a shared calendar that I would like
to import all the appointments over the top of my current calendar (that
doesn't have any appointments). How can I do this without editing each and
every appointment?
