Had win2K installed on C:, house hit by lightning!
Problem getting back in. 'Bad_Pool_?' error on boot.
Tried to re-install on C: and ended up in no-mans-
land...couldn't continue set-up, still getting 'Bad_Pool'
error. Gave up and installed on D: This is fine, but all
my apps are registered on the C:win2K. Is there any way I
can import the registry from the broken version of
win2K. If I can't do that, I must reinstall all my
apps. That's not a problem, except that the one I need
the most is Frontpage, and I can't find the CD! Any way
to just import the Frontpage registry? Or is there some
other solution to my predicament? I am desparate.
Thanks,
Marie

Be glad that you haven't problem getting into the house again:-)

No joke: if electrical shock damaged your partition C:,
there's a good chance that further errors reside on the PC.

I wouldn't rely to the data on partition D: neither.

My proposal: do a low-level formatting on the hard disks.
Not only on C, but on all of them, maybe one after the other
so that you have always one partition to copy important data to.

Otherwise there's a risk that you run into problems all the time
after, and some of them might be very difficult to trace down.

Summing up the times for all these future risks might give much more
than the time for re-formatting and re-installing your system.
