Hi I am making a 15 minute movie in MM2 to view on TV.I saved the photo
story project as 640 x480 DVD {NTSC}. I then saved in MM2 as DVI AVI on
computer then burned a VCD with Nero Express 5.5. The pictures still appear
quite grainy. Some are scanned and are quite good , some are from my digital
camera .Can anyone tell me what might give me a better picture?I am using
Windows XP. I have already repeated the project trying 320 x 240 VCD NTSC
and it was worse. Am I saving in the right resolution? I have spent many
hours trying to find a solution to this . Thanks in advance.

Why did you import the PS3 project
into Movie Maker? Couldn't you create
a VCD using the PS3 .wmv file with
NeroVision Express?

And it may be worth a try to use the
1024x768 profile in PS3.

If your MM project is mostly composed of pictures and imports from PS3 then
you should save the output movie using a profile with 640x480 output size
such as "Video for Local Playback (2.1 Mbps)".

Afterwards make a DVD rather than a VCD. The quality would be getting lost
during the conversion to VCD step. If you make a DVD you may still be able
save it on a normal CD (thus making so called miniDVD) if your standalone
player supports this format/media combination. Some of the new ones do
especially all the cheap ones from china :-)

Hi I imported my PS3 project into MM2 because I had a short video made on my
Canon digital camera that I wanted to use, also there is more static titles
etc in MM2.Could these titles be used in PS? I burned a VCD trying 1024x768
as you suggested and the picture quality is sharper but the background looks
kind of wavy for some reason.Thank you for your help.

Hi I can't make a DVD with Nero Express 5.5, My only option is a VCD.If I
try as you suggested and save the movie with 640 x480 out put "Video for
local playback "would that still work? .I don't really understand the setting
choices for saving movies and when they can be used;its not explained at all
in MM2 help.
Thanks for your help.

Ok you wanted to edit the file. Based on your
previous message it sounded as though you
just wanted to save it in the .avi format.

I don't think PS3 can use the titles.

Don't know for sure...my monitor used to
have a wavy appearance sometimes...
(something like heat rising from the highway
after a rain storm).

An updated video driver corrected it.

It would still help yes.
You say you can't make a DVD with Nero 5.5 do you have a DVD burner?
If so then I assume your version of Nero 5.5 came free with the burner or
computer meaning it may not be a full version.
Check my website for other DVD Authoring programs that offer free WORKING
trial downloads and use one of those to create your DVD.
