Importing Panasonic DVR-D200 files

I recently purchased a Panasonic Palm DVD recorder. Windows movie maker does
not recognize the video files. Is there an upgrade? Or should I return the
camera? Is there a DVR on the market that will produce video files that can
be edtied in Movie Maker?
