After a major hard drive crash, I had to install a new primary hard drive
and reinstall Windows XP. Fortunately the data was preserved on the old
drive and I can read it. Unfortunately, I cannot run Outlook on the old
drive to export my Contacts, Personal Folders, Etc.

Is there a way to manually transfer that information?

Thanks,
Mike

Of course. Exporting is not a good way to do this anyway. The file you need
is your Personal Folders file (*.pst). It's where all the mail, calendar,
contacts etc. are stored.

Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup:
http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm

Thanks. I located that file by searching on *.pst on the old drive. But,
when I tried opening it with the newly installed Outlook said that it was
not a valid Outlook data file. (Strangely, when I look at its properties, it
says it is Outlook.NK2, not Outlook.pst. Then I tried running scanpst to fix
it. It found two errors. But, after "fixing" the file, Outlook still does
not recognize it as a valid Outlook data file.

Any other ideas??

Thanks again!

You got the wrong file. An NK2 file is the autocompletion cache.

You need the file with a *.pst extension.
