Outlook XP doesn't seem to want to export any Internet Mail Accounts on my
system. I have a whole host of downloaded email in OE6, and want to port it
all to OXP.
I just can't seem to get the account information through.

Any tips?

Outlook does not support iaf's. You'll need ot create you accounts in
OL or use Import and Export and import the settings from OE.

That's right, but I can't import the Internet Mail Account info. into
Outlook in the first place. All it [Outlook] says is it could not find any
accounts to import; something to that effect.
I otherwise have a perfectly usable OE6 box which I use to read all my mail
and have stuff regularly backed-up.

And the only thing that Outlook can do with a "perfectly usable OE6
box" is import the messages & address book.

Is that it?

You're the pro, you tell me.
There's a lot of guess work going on where Outlook is concerned - this or
that doesn't work...

Yes that is correct, expcept it [Outlook] says there are no accounts to
*import*.
Before I did that, I transported all my stored messages etc over and all
came through fine. Now I'm trying to get my account info. over, and maybe
the signatures I've defined in OE6 as well, if possible. Reason I'm adamant
is that I've got around 10 email accounts all carefully customised in OE6
and don't want to fill all that info all over again in Outlook.

I have never seen it fail as long as OE and OL are on the same machine...
and you use just the main identity. I don't think sigs carry over, but if
they are in files, you can use the files for sigs in OL, pretty much the
same way you do in OE.

Let's start at the beginning... you used Outlook's File, Import and
Export menu and selected Import Internet Mail Account Settings and it
says there are no accounts to export?

It's a sad story then. OE & OL are on the same Windows installation, and I
am the Main Id.

Maybe I should have to format, clean my whole disk and reinstall everything,
MS style :)

No, it's not true. Outlook can import accounts, except for the

why it won't import yours.

you could do that, but it would probably be easier just to add the 10
accounts to OL. <g>

When you start OL after adding a new account to OE it asks if you want to
import it -so why not try adding an account to oe (can be a fake account)
and seeing if OL detects it. It might be the kick in the pants it needs...
