Importing newsgroup messages from Outlook Express to Windows Mail

I used Outlook Express on my machine when it had XP on it and now I have
done a fresh install of Vista Ultimate x64 on the same machine. I have
saved the Outlook Express store folder on another partition. Now, that
folder only contains newsgroup information including a very important folder
of saved items. How can I import these into Windows Mail? I have tried the
Import function but when I navigate to the store folder it says that it
can't find any email messages. How do I import newsgroup messages?
