Does anyone know how to import multiple powerpoint files into one larger powerpoint file? For instance if I have 50 powerpoint presentations with 1 slide in each, how can I easily roll all of them into one larger presentation with 50 slides.

There are a few ways to do this:

1) write a macro to add all the files in a directory to the main one
2) write a VB (or language of choice) program to do the same
3) manually Insert | Slides from files ... for each of the presentations
4) Cut and paste -- slide by slide

If this is something that you will need often, I'd recommend one of the
first two. If it is rare; then one of the second two.

An expansion of Bill's idea number 3: Insert--> Slides from file, but
multiple files at a time. When you browse for the files multiselect (control
click or shift click) to get exactly the files you want. There is a button
to select all slides, or you can hand select the ones you want with the
regular insert button. Once you have all the slides in, click the close
button. One more hint: When working with lots of slides, I prefer looking at
the slide titles to the thumbnail shots. You can toggle back and forth using
the two tabs at the top right of the section containing the slides.

Hello,

If none of the suggestions provided give you the functionality that you
were looking for or, if you (or anyone else reading this message) have
suggestions for how and why you think PowerPoint should provide this
functionality (or make it easier), don't forget to send your feedback (in
YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).

Bill,

If I went with option 1, would there be a good place to find already written code for the macro. This is something I will be doing weekly so I need something that will facilitate easy roll up of these presentations

Michelle

Sorry, Michelle

The code is rather straight forward, but I do not have an example of it
available. Perhaps someone else has some code handy.
