Importing multi state buttons from Fireworks

Can someone hook me up with idiot proof instructions on how to import multi state (2 color buttons) from Fireworks into FP 2002. I can't get to work. Thanks.
 
Be sure you use Export from Fireworks .... probably onto your desktop. Then
Import into your images folder in FP. Let me know if that works ... I'm sort
of guessing.... in other words, I haven't tried it that way.
