I have an JVC digital videocamera and I import my movies on the PC with
ImageMixer. But if I import this movies by MovieMaker I see only the image
and no sound. The movies have the extensie .MPG. Can anyone tell me what's
the problem?

Hi Gerbert;
Does your imported movie have no sound as well?
When I capture movies from my Samsung DV, the video that shows in the
preview has no sound either, but when you play the captured clip or edit it,
the sound is there.

MPG files need conversion (to AVI) in order to be edited in Movie Maker.
Sometime they seem to work but only to fail a bit later.

You can use VirtualDubMod to convert the files. Better still use some other
editor which handles MPG files directly. VideoReDo is specifically designed
for editing MPEG files. Nero's Vision Express is also reported to edit MPG
files.

Some simple editing can be done with free ones too:
Cuttermaran (http://www.cuttermaran.de/frameset.htm) and
ChopperXP (http://www.digital-miner.com/chopperxp.html)

For JeffW,
The video what shows in the preview has sound, but if I put the movie in the
timetable there's no sound. Very strange!

For Rehan,
Thanks for your reply but I still convert my video's with WinAVI to the
extensie .wmv but after convert the quality is not so good.
It's bad from Windows Movie Maker that you can't import .MPG video's!

Convert to "Uncompressed RGB" AVI format for maintaining quality. The files
willbe huge but you only need these for editing purposes. Once a final video
is rendered you can discard these files.
