I don't understand how there is no way to import messages from Thunderbird
into Windows Mail. Does anybody know how??

I tried to use aid4mail, shareware available at aid4mail.com, to convert the
Thunderbird files into Outlook Express files, which was successful. But then
I went to import *those* into Windows Mail, and it wouldn't accept them,
which doesn't make any sense.

Somebody help!

Looking at aid4mail's site, it looks like it converts individual messages
into .EML files. Instead of trying to import these files, try dragging and
dropping them into a Windows Mail folder.

If you can get eml files then you can drag them from a Windows Explorer
window overtop a Windows Mail window message list and drop them and they
will be incorporated into the Winmail message store.

Or with my OEX program (www.oehelp.com/OEX/), you can just point to that
directory and import them with a button click.

But I don't know what format that program spits out the messages in.
