Can anyone help. First time user of WMM and i am having problems importing
jpegs into a movie. When i first import them they can be seen, however, when
i take out the floppy disc or CD that they are stored on the picture becomes
a RED CROSS and the pictures cannot be saved as a movie on a CDR. Has anybody
got any ideas?

The importing process doesn't copy the files into Movie Maker..... it just
links to the pictures on the CD. If you remove the CD, they are no longer
accessible to Movie Maker and you get big red X's.

Copy the pictures to your hard drive first, or put the CD back in the drive.

First of all, you are working on "making a movie", but you have to complete
it. While you are in the process of building it, and you have your CD with
your pictures in, you are working on a project. After you are done assembling
your movie project, with your CD still in, you have to finish your movie. If
you have your "tasks" pane showing, you will see that #3 is Finish Movie.
Here you can select where you want to save it to: Computer, Cd, e-mail, DV
camera, etc. This is where it will take all your photos and sounds from your
collections, and save them into one file. That's the file you will be able to
take with you on a CD, or play in the Windows Media Player. After that file
is created, your movie is finished, and you will be able to move your other
pictures wherever you want them. If you ever want to change the movie, you
will have to go back to that project file, and make sure all your pictures
are in the same place they were when you created the movie, and make a new
one.
