importing jpegs from other applications?

Is there an easier way to create a slideshow using
pictures from other picture software then to "insert
picture from file" one at a time? I'd very much like to
import all of the pictures into powerpoint but I haven't
figured out a way to do that.

Is it possible?

You can use PowerPoint's Photo Album feature - it's built-in into PowerPoint
2002 and 2003 and available as a separate download for PowerPoint 2000.
