Hi there,

I have a client that is currently importing data from
Pastel v6 into excel. Once it is imported the numbers are
show as text e.g. '123. I have tried using find and
replace to get rid of the apostrophe, but it doesn't
work. She is currenlty going into each individul cell and
remvoing it.

Any solutions will be greatly appreciated.

Here are three possibilities.

1. Use a formula such as =VALUE(A1) to do the conversion. (Obviously, if
your data were in a column, you could put this in the first cell and copy
down.)

2. Select and copy a blank cell (formatted as General or Number, NOT Text).
Then select the data and use Edit > Paste Special > Operation, Add > OK.

3. Select the data and use the Text To Columns wizard on the Data menu.

You can put a 1 in an unused cell, right-click > Copy it .....then highlight
your errant cells and do right-click > Paste Special > Multiply.........
