I have a good healthy list in my outlook contacts now. I need to import
another list from excel. The outlook list is mostly email numbers. The
excel list is all names and addresses. Can I import the excel list and have
them merge into the two under each contact.
For instance ...for example.:
Harry Smith's email number is in outlook
Harry Smith's street address is in excel

How do I import excel and have the street address added to the record with
the same name that the email number is in.

The only option you have available via Outlook's import process is "Replace
duplicates with items imported" and to be honest, it's a process that seems
to be prone to errors as in "failing to run" more often than not (at least
in our tests - may very well be different for others). Make a backup of your
PST file and see how it works for you.

Alternatively, you may find ContactGenie DataPorter - (Pers Ed) of interest
which will allow you to import (and update) existing contacts -
http://www.contactgenie.com/cg20features.htm (there is a very inexpensive 15
day license available for one off requirements)

if the name and email match, outlook should detect the records are matching
and offer to update. See http://www.slipstick.com/addins/contacts_dups.asp
for duplicate removers - contact scrubber is one utility that will match
contacts and let you pick the fields to keep from each record.
