This 6/13/2008 14:40:29 is general date from a text file and this 6/13/2008
2:40:29 PM is general date from Access. Access will not import the general
date from the text file directly. I can import it into Excel (that seems to
know that it is a date) then import it into Access. This has been going on
for at least 8 years. I have tried it on every version for 8 years. Surely
I'm not the only one that has had this problem. I have also been doing some
programming with VB 2005 Express and 2008 express. They export (write to text
file) as the first format example (6/13/2008 14:40:29). Even if there are
some settings on the local computer that can help, this is a major PAIN
sometimes. You can't always easily get to someone else computer to make these
changes. Since Excel understands on all versions Access should be able to
also. If there is a fix I would like to know. I have several workarounds like
import to Excel first...It needs to be fixed....PLEASE...
