importing from excel - contacts not showing up

I am running XP and Outlook 2003. I am trying to import new contacts from
excel. I have many fields that I have mapped. Outlook walks me thru the
import feature and when I click import, it looks like it's working. THen when
it shows it's finished importing, the contacts are not showing up.

Help...

Make sure that the "Named Range" in your Excel worksheet covers all
rows/columns that you wish to import including the first "header row"
containing the field names. Sounds like you just have the header row defined
in the named range - hence nothing is getting imported. Alternatively, just
save your worksheet as a CSV file and import the CSV file instead and you
won't have to worry about the "named range"
