importing from a CSV file

I recieve data overnight in the form of a excel csv file.

I want to simply have my macro import the data direct fromm the csv file -
without having to resave it as an xls file - i'm trying to use the transfer
spreadsheet macro but not really making any progress.

I'm also a newcomer to this so simple answers much appreciated!

csv is *not* an excel file but a Delimited text file
Use the TransferText Method (manual the first time & save the import spec)
you can then use the importspec to automate the import
