I have recently purchased a new computer (finally with XP) and this is my
first time trying Moviemaker. I have a Hitachi DVD camcorder that requires
special software to import the clips onto the computer. I can view the
movies after the import but when I try to import into movie maker I get the
following error:

C:\ezs060212-008.MPG could not be imported. An interface has too many
methods to fire events from

All other DVD authoring software seems to work with the clips and even if I
convert the MPEG file to AVI it can be imported into Moviemaker. I obviously
don't want to convert everything to AVI so any help would be most
appreciative.

Thanks

Hi
This is basically an UPDATE issue.
First, type "How to create a system restore point,XP" into google,
OR, goto: Start/Programs/System Tools
and create a system restore point.
REBOOT.
Then connect to web in your usual method:
Close all windows but remain connected,
GoTo: Start/Windows Update
The dialog will appear, just follow instructions etc
Your PC will update with *critical* updates
Then retrace above steps, but ensure you download
and install recommended updates, this will include
net framework etc.
Follow all online instructions
REBOOT
All should now function.
Have fun.

Thanks for the suggestion. I updated everything I could with XP and the
problem still remains. I would appreciate any more ideas.

There's a good chance that you need to
convert the .mpg files to a different format.

Have a look at the following link:
