I have an Access database file in Table format on a disc
I have been trying to import this specific entire file to
my Access datebase on my hard drive. I've read and follow
all in instructions in the "help" guide but somehow I am
not able to import the file.
Can someone help me with step-by-step instructions?

Also what is MDB file/s?

Thanks

Hi Marion,

1. If you are trying to import a whole database, you
would be just copying the whole database itself from the
disk to your hard drive.

2. If you want to import a table from the disk, you want
to use the option at the top left of your screen File-Get
External Data while you have the Access database that is
on your C drive, and select the database that is on your
CD, then select the tables or whatever files you want to
import from database on the CD to your database on your
hard drive.

3. This is just some more information you might want to
know. You can not have a complete database in a Table
format as you specified. A database is a complete file by
itself, which contains the macros, tables, queries,
reports and modules that belong to it.

4. An mdb is a Microsoft Database File. This is the
format that all Microsoft Access databases are in.

I hope I helped you out.

I'm sure you have tried importing the file, but you don't tell us much.
Answers to these questions would help us:
1. What is the name and file extension of the file you ar trying to import -
e.g. Contacts.csv or Contacts.mdb
2. Would the database you are trying to import into be on CD?
3. What have you tried so far?
4. What is the error message if any?
5. What are you seeing on your screen?

an Mdb file is the standard Access database file format.
It contains all the tables(data) and other objects in an access database.
