Hi

I'm importing my Excel spreadsheet via "Get External Data"
but I keep getting an error invalid fieldnames, and that
Access will make them up. F10, F11 etc. Now I've checked
my spreadsheet and I have no idea what's going on as there
are all columns/data is imported correctly apart from
these extra (empty) columns.

Is there anything I can do?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

In your Excel spreadsheet create a named range against the columns and rows
needed and import as a named range. If you don't get an error then you know
where the data can be physically seen is okay. However, if you get an error
with the name range ensure you do not have any hidden columns in your
spreadsheet. Ensure that all data under a column have all the same
datatypes. Ensure that the first row and only the first row of your
spreadsheet is either data or field names. If you have field names that
reside on the second line, this is most likely your problem.
